چکیده

Deoiled soy lecithin is a feed additive enriched in phospholipids. Our study evaluated the effects of dietary deoiled supplementation on (1) milk production and composition, (2) plasma fatty acid (FA) content yield, (3) apparent FA digestibility absorption lactating dairy cows fed fractionated palm fat. In split-plot Latin square design, 16 Holstein (160 ± 7 days milk; 3.6 1.2 parity) were randomly allocated to main plot receiving corn silage alfalfa haylage-based diet with fat containing either moderate (MPA) or high palmitic (HPA) at 1.75% ration dry matter (72 99% acid, respectively; n = 8/palm diet). On each diet, was top-dressed 0, 0.12, 0.24, 0.36% replicated 4 × design. Following 14-d covariate period, spanned 14 d, blood collected during final 3 d. Milk composition pooled markers measured. The statistical model included fixed type, dose, interaction between type dose. random effect cow nested within group also included. Lecithin linearly decreased intake. HPA, feeding reduced tended decrease yield. Although no changes yield observed, quadratic reduction 3.5% fat-corrected observed increasing increased energy-corrected efficiency MPA. urea nitrogen, relative unsupplemented cows. proportion 16-carbon whereas 18-carbon linearly. de novo (<16-carbon) increase preformed (>16-carbon) linear manner. Compared MPA, HPA diets total absorption. did not modify observations suggest that modifies rumen digestion reduce intake change composition.

Milk Production, Milk Fatty Acid Profiles and Blood Metabolites in Holstein Dairy Cows Fed Diets Based on Dried Citrus Pulp

The objective of the present study was to determine the effect of substitution of corn grain with dried citrus pulp (DCP) on milk composition, fatty acids profiles and blood metabolites in Holstein dairy cows. These parameters were measured in a replicated 4 × 4 latin square design experiment using eight Holstein cows. Each experimental period lasted 4 weeks. The four treatments were: control (...

Effects of grass silage and soybean meal supplementation on milk production and milk fatty acid profiles of grazing dairy cows.

The effects of supplementation with grass silage and replacement of some corn in the concentrate with soybean meal (SBM) on milk production, and milk fatty acid (FA) profiles were evaluated in a replicated 4 x 4 Latin square study using 16 dairy cows grazing pasture composed of ryegrass, Kentucky bluegrass, and white clover. Each experimental period lasted for 3 wk. The 4 dietary treatments wer...

Effect of Calf Gender on Milk Yield and Fatty Acid Content in Holstein Dairy Cows

The scale of sexed semen use to avoid the birth of unwanted bull calves in the UK dairy industry depends on several economic factors. It has been suggested in other studies that calf gender may affect milk yield in Holsteins- something that would affect the economics of sexed semen use. The present study used a large milk recording data set to evaluate the effect of calf gender (both calf born ...

Effects of forage type and extruded linseed supplementation on methane production and milk fatty acid composition of lactating dairy cows.

Replacing dietary grass silage (GS) with maize silage (MS) and dietary fat supplements may reduce milk concentration of specific saturated fatty acids (SFA) and can reduce methane production by dairy cows. The present study investigated the effect of feeding an extruded linseed supplement on milk fatty acid (FA) composition and methane production of lactating dairy cows, and whether basal forag...
